Transport Action Network Cymru was established in 2021 to strengthen our presence in Wales and to support the Welsh Government’s move away from road building.
We advocate for the creation of a truly sustainable, accessible, and efficient Welsh transport network, which will reduce carbon emissions and decrease the reliance on private motor vehicles for journeys across Wales.

We have provided support for the roll out of 20mph as the default residential speed limit and scrutinised proposals for bus franchising through the Welsh Governments newly laid Bus Services (Wales) Bill, and air pollution through our work with Healthy Air Cymru on the development and now the implementation of Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024.
We work closely with a range of organisations in Wales, including Healthy Air Wales and Climate Cymru. We have regular meetings with other NGO’s and Government officials and are happy to speak with local groups or individuals on any transport issue.
If you would like to get in touch with Rhian Nowell-Phillips, our Welsh roads and climate campaigner, you can phone her on: 07802 775780
