Transport Action Network (TAN) Cymru has announced the appointment of Gwynfor Edwards as its new Campaigns Organiser, strengthening the group’s work to build community-led opposition to damaging road schemes and to campaign for better bus and rail services across Wales.

Edwards joins TAN Cymru from Green New Deal Rising, where as Cymru Organiser he coordinated a UK-wide residential gathering of activists, led a high-profile intervention at the Reform UK Wales manifesto launch that was covered by every major outlet, and helped secure the election of a slate of GNDR-backed climate champions.

A fluent Welsh speaker, Edwards brings a career spanning political campaigning with Plaid Cymru Sir Gâr, NHS communications with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, and four years as an elected County Councillor for Deiniol Ward in Gwynedd.
