Improving safety on the A66 – faster, cheaper

Keith Buchan, a highly experienced transport planner, examined the safety record of the A66 and the evidence submitted during the planning examination for the £1.5 billion A66 Northern Trans-Pennine project. He makes recommendations for safety improvements on the A66 which could be implemented now, at low cost, rather than waiting five years for the £1.5 billion A66 scheme to be built. These safety improvements would reduce collisions and casualties, whilst saving public funds.
